Career Development Professional Level 6 Apprenticeship

 


Career Development Professionals are typically found in educational settings, training organisations, careers and employment services and human resource/learning and development departments in both the public and the private sector.

The broad purpose of the occupation is to assist individuals and/or organisations before or during career transitions to develop long and short-term career strategies. Transitions could include from learning to work, returning to the labour market, returning to learning, sector/organisation/management change, redundancy, and pre-retirement choices.

They are responsible for making professional judgements in the best interest of the client whilst adhering to the ethical practice required by the organisation or profession and acting in accordance with organisational policy and relevant legislation.

QUALIFICATION SUITABLE FOR

Typical job titles include career adviser, career coach, career guidance counsellor, careers leader, career consultant, career development practitioner, employability adviser & workforce development officer.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You should have sector-specific experience and be in a suitable job role to undertake this apprenticeship. Your role and experience should consist of broadly assisting individuals and/or organisations before or during career transitions to develop long and short term career strategies.

It is favourable (but not essential) that applicants hold a level 2 (GCSE A to C / 9 to 4) in English and Maths.

An employee in this occupation will be responsible for helping individuals assess their own strengths, values, beliefs, and situation and connect them meaningfully to the labour market and the education system. You need to demonstrate your motivation and commitment to achieving this qualification. If you are working with young people or vulnerable adults you will be required to hold DBS clearance.

Sector specific subjects delivered in monthly virtual learning sessions .

Off-the-job-training Hours

At Call of the Wild we have a unique take on OTJ hours. We base our strategy on teaching Apprentices reflective practice using experiential learning techniques. This cuts down the need for weeks of written set work which other providers insist on and increases the skills and performance of the Apprentice on a weekly basis
