These are the biographies of our staff who deliver the IAG and Counselling qualifications.

Simon Forzani

simon-forzani-2Simon has 25 years’ experience in both the delivery and senior management of learning, assessment, and support of learners and employers to achieve their individual goals with a continuous track record of success.

In the past 10 years Simon has specialised in supporting clients from the public sector, volunteer sector and enterprise to access funding opportunities.

Simon is the national business manager for COTW Training and heads our Health and Community Services Division which includes the delivery of our advice and guidance as well as our counselling programmes.

Simon is also in charge of our business support programme carrying out business consultancy for companies across England and Wales.

Anne Tanner

anne-3Anne has fifteen years’ experience of delivering learning, assessment, and support to learners and employers to achieve their potential with a successful track record of success. She has been highly involved with quality aspects of delivery including Internal Verification, observations of delivery including graded Ofsted observations, auditing of files and coordinating the delivery of apprenticeships and classroom programmes.

Anne gained her Cert Ed and specialises in teaching Literacy and Numeracy to enable her to work with projects in the delivery of Basic Skills and Life Skills (confidence building, self-esteem, prevention of bullying, discrimination, communication, motivation, personal and social development, and vocational education), in supplementary schooling, exclusion programmes, NEET and unemployed programmes. Anne has specialised in embedding basic skills, functional skills and Key Skills into apprenticeship programmes and classroom programmes over a wide range of vocations to support assessors and trainers to ensure the success of learners. She delivered IAG to ensure that learners are at the right place in their progression at all times and supported with appropriate counselling and mentoring when appropriate. Her overall aim is to see learners achieve and progress in todays’ society.

Dave Thomas

dave-thomasDave is a professional management development practitioner. He has many years’ experience, both in the UK and overseas, in the following areas: designing, presenting and delivering, team building, risk management, health & safety systems, leadership and management development programmes. He has worked with a wide range of clients from SME’s to multi-nationals and companies he has worked with include Vodafone, Orange and Panasonic.

A holder of the Mountain Instructor Certificate and British Canoe Union Level 4 Inland Kayak Coach, he has travelled extensively in Scandinavia, Iceland, the European Alps, Corsica, Kenya, Tanzania, North and South America, Canada and Cyprus. He has a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring. Dave has a real world practical knowledge, obtained over many years, of developing people and teams, delivering effective leadership, improving communication and team dynamics. He has a unique ability to get to the core of the issue under consideration and draw out, through astute facilitation, understanding and solutions.

Dave participated in the planning and execution of the first successful winter crossing of Iceland on skis, from the West coast to the East. Attempted six times previously by various nationalities the Island of Iceland was deemed uncrossable. Dragging sledges each weighing 240 pounds the four-man team skied in arctic blizzard conditions for 47 days over 500 miles.

Darren Rodrigues

darren-rodrigues-2Darren has a wealth of practical experience, knowledge and skills in both the private and public  health and safety sector which adds to our growing portfolio of services we can offer our clients. Darren is our lead trainer for NEBOSH, IOSH and CIEH training courses. He also develops and delivers bespoke courses for our clients to meet their specific needs such as manual handling, COSHH, working at height and asbestos awareness. In addition to delivering training Darren also acts as a consultant offering advice on improving internal health and safety procedures, risk assessments and operational procedures.  This cost effective service combined with Darren’s personable approach has proved useful for clients who don’t their own in-house expertise.

 

 

Fran Burrows

Francesca spent 12 years in the army as a front line combat medic. She served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. She was awarded the DZ Award For Bravery in Afghanistan after the military vehicle she was travelling in with colleagues was blown up.

Fran designs and delivers our bespoke first aid training for clients. An inspirational individual, she also uses her extensive military experience to work as a facilitator and motivational speaker with our corporate clients.

 

 

 

Phil Lloyd

 

Phil has worked in the education and training sector for over 20 years. He is an experienced manager and has led many national initiatives and delivered numerous large contracts. He has extensive experience of working with both private and public sector clients and utilises this detailed knowledge to understand a client’s needs and requirements, ensuring that the development and training programme delivered produces a lasting change, both in the individual and in the workplace.
